Garlic Parmesan Pork Chops are a savory and juicy dish that combines the richness of Parmesan cheese with the aromatic flavors of garlic and butter. Whether you cook them in the air fryer, oven, or stovetop, these pork chops have a crispy, golden crust with a tender and juicy interior. This recipe is simple, quick, and perfect for a weeknight dinner or a special occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 bone-in or boneless pork chops (about 1 inch thick)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (freshly grated works best)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)
  • Lemon wedges (optional, for serving)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Pork Chops:

    • Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
    • Season both sides of the pork chops with salt and pepper.
  • Make Garlic Parmesan Butter:

    • In a small bowl, melt the butter and combine it with garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, rosemary, and grated Parmesan cheese. Stir until fully mixed.
  • Coat the Pork Chops:

    • Brush both sides of the pork chops generously with the garlic Parmesan butter mixture.
  • Cooking Methods:

    • Air Fryer Method:
      • Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
      • Place the pork chops in the air fryer basket, ensuring they aren’t overcrowded.
      • Air fry for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the pork chops reach an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
    • Oven-Baked Method:
      • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
      • Place the pork chops on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
      • Bake for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the pork chops reach an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C).
    • Stovetop Method:
      • Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
      • Sear the pork chops on each side for 3-4 minutes until golden brown.
      • Lower the heat and add the garlic Parmesan butter to the skillet. Cook for another 4-5 minutes, spooning the melted butter over the pork chops.
      • Check that the internal temperature has reached 145°F (63°C).
  • Rest and Serve:

    • Let the pork chops rest for 5 minutes before serving.
    • Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with lemon wedges, if desired.

Notes

  • Internal Temperature: For the best results, make sure the internal temperature of the pork chops reaches 145°F (63°C).
  • Resting: Allow the pork chops to rest for a few minutes after cooking to keep the juices inside and ensure a tender result.
  • Parmesan Cheese: Freshly grated Parmesan cheese gives the best flavor and texture, but pre-grated Parmesan will work if that’s what you have on hand.
  • Storage: Leftover pork chops can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or air fryer for best results.
  • Marinating: For extra flavor, you can marinate the pork chops in the garlic Parmesan butter mixture for 30 minutes before cooking.
