Ingredients
  

Les fruits
  • 4 pieces apples Golden, Gala or Pink Lady
Base du flan
  • 2 cups plain yogurt natural yogurt
  • 3 large eggs room temperature
  • 100 g sugar
Parfum et texture
  • 1 packet vanilla sugar
  • 100 g flour

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Lightly butter and flour a cake pan to prevent sticking.
  2. Peel the apples, remove the cores and seeds, and slice them into thin, even slices.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, whisk the eggs, sugar and vanilla sugar together until the mixture becomes light and slightly foamy.
  4. Add the plain yogurt to the mixture and whisk until smooth and well combined.
  5. Gradually add the flour while mixing to obtain a smooth batter without lumps.
  6. Add the apple slices to the batter and gently mix with a spatula so the fruit is evenly coated.
  7. Pour the mixture into the prepared pan and smooth the surface with a spatula.
  8. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes until the surface is lightly golden and the center is set but still slightly soft.
  9. Remove from the oven and allow the flan to cool for about 20 minutes before unmolding. Let it cool completely before serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of cinnamon, nutmeg or lemon zest to the batter. This dessert can be served warm for a softer texture or chilled for a firmer consistency. It keeps well in the refrigerator for up to 3 days in an airtight container.
